Syracuse Business Executive Portraits from a Corporate Photographer Saratoga Springs NY

Photographing a busy executive is a familiar assignment for me as a corporate and commercial photographer in Saratoga Springs NY.

This assignment for a trade magazine required photographing an executive for the cover and inside pages of the magazine to accompany a feature article.

Of course there were the usual challenges of limited time and cold/windy weather which always seem to be present.

The goal was to provide the assigning art director with an image for the cover and an image for use as a story illustrator inside. I went further, photographing the executive in a few locations, providing cover compositions as well as alternative compositions for use as story illustrators from each location/setup. Plus, a photo with the co owner of the company was also made. One additional set of photos created included a few fast head shots (find a clean background, set up some light, get it done) so that faces would be available to marry to quotations in the story, enhancing the layout.

Working quickly and providing options are among the value-points I bring to each assignment.

The owner of the company was, of course, very busy so I worked quickly to set up lighting in several locations where she could step in for a few minutes to make the photos.

Often, quick headshots of key personnel are needed for a magazine article. They are nice to have to allow a designer to use quotations from subjects featured. A quick lighting setup and leveraging existing light and a clean background allowed me to make a few staff photos quickly.
